The world of NBA was shocked by news on Friday that Gregga Popovich had left Coaching, although he would remain in San Antonio Spurs as his permanent president.
The news about his departure after 29 years at work followed a soft stroke in November, which allowed Popovich to call plays for the team this season. Assistant coach Mitch Johnson, who served as a temporary one, will become a constant head coach. Johnson was an assistant in the “spur” for a decade and became the temporary head coach in November after the fear of Popovich.

“While my love and passion for the game remain, I decided that it was time to leave as the head coach,” Popovich said in a team statement. “I am always grateful to wonderful players, trainers, employees and fans who allowed me to serve them as the head coach of Spurs and are glad to continue to support the organization, community and the city that are so significant.”
Several stars and celebrities of the NBA praised Popovich for his decorated coaching career, including the Glory Hall of NBA Kevin Garnett and rap artist Lil Wayne.
Antonio Daniels played under the participation of Popovich for four seasons, having won the 1999 NBA championship together.
Popovich was the head coach of the “spurs” since 1996 and is the most defeated coach in the history of the NBA with 1422 victories. Its resume includes five NBA titles, 18 seasons in a row of 50 victories, 170 wins in the playoffs and three Coach of NBA awards of the year.
Before becoming the head coach in San Antonio, Popovich was an assistant “spurs” from 1988 to 92 and the Golden Stait warriors from 1992 to 94. A native of the Eastern Chicago, Indiana, also played the US Air Force from 1966 to 1966 to 1966-70 and helped the US team win gold at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, along with the coach of Villanova Jay Wright.
