Mika Parsons explains why he came to voluntary Cowboys training, despite the extension of the contract.

The Dallas Cowboys Micah Parsons midfielder usually does not attend the team voluntary training in the offseason. So it was a big thing when Parsons, who was looking for an extension of the contract, decided that it was a year to appear during the event.

On Tuesday, Parsons explained his presence on the offseason of training, praising the new Cowboys Brian Schottenheimer in the process, according to the team’s website.

“Everyone has a different prospect, but, talking with Shotti and (him), telling me how important it is for me to be there, and that he is trying to prove and show the team – I just thought that it was important. One of if he asks her to come to the aspect of leadership and be near the guys and show her face, this is what I want to do for my coach. ”

“I mean, for me it is not very similar to a walk. This is only me. As I always said, I wanted to be a cowboy and be here, I feel that it is really me. I have been as real as possible since I was here. ”

The cowboys are in the transition after parting with the head coach Mike McCarthy in the offseason. Schottenheimer, who held the position of coordinator of the team’s offensive in the last two seasons, was named the new Cowboys head coach in January.

As part of this hiring, cowboys replaced several coaches in the staff, including the coordinator of the team’s protection. Mike Zimmer was replaced by the former chief coach of Chicago BEARS Matt Eberflu for the 2025 season.

Given all this, Parsons felt that it was best to be present when the team met in the offseason. While he will not do any work on the field while he is waiting for a new deal, Parsons can use this time to find out the new Eberflu protection.

A new contract is probably already on the way. Although nothing has been signed, the owner of Cowboys Jerry Jones implied that both sides were successful in the offseason.

It seems that there is still work at this end, but Parsons, which appeared on voluntary training for the first time, is probably a good sign that he sees himself in Dallas in the foreseeable future.
