Payton Vrechard won the NBA 2024-25 of the sixth of the year, having received 82 votes of the first place, the league said on Tuesday.
Protchard is now the fourth Boston Celtic, who won the award, joining Kevin Mcheilu (who won twice), Bill Walton and Malcolm Brogdon. Accordingly, the trophy is named after another Celtic: the creator of the role of the sixth man, John Havitsek. The award did not exist during the career of the Halisek glory hall, but many of his successors in Boston were honored for filling his shoes. Now Breecard joins this glorified group.
Maliki “Pistons” took the second place with 13 votes in the first place, and no other player received more than two votes in the first place.
