Travis Hunter played an attack and defense in football in college and won the Heisman trophy. He and his head coach of the college Deyon Sanders think that he can be a bilateral player in the NFL.
But it is also fair to ask if this is realistic. Football in college and NFL is almost individual sports, physically and mentally. There is a reason why in the era of the Super Cup no one played in both directions for more than a short time.

John Harbo is one of the best head coaches NFL. He was with the Baltor ravens for 17 seasons and is on the probable path of the Hall of Glory. While most NFLs publicly said that they did not think that it was impossible for the hunter to play both sides of the ball in the league, Harbo had a different corner.
Harbo was not as optimistic as the hunter about the advisability of a bilateral player in the NFL.
John Harbo: “I don’t know if hours a day”
Harbo did not say that someone could not play in both directions in the NFL on a limited basis. He said it was possible. It can be difficult to do this full day, although.

“To say that you will be completely immersed in everything you need to know in the attack and defense … I don’t know if the day is enough when the player can do this,” Harbo said through Jamison Hensley from ESPN.
“Of course, you can do this, I would think on one side of the ball, and then you have any package on the other side of the ball, which, in your opinion, I think how the team will do it wherever it goes.”

Interestingly, Harbo mentioned the mental aspect of the game in both directions. There was more attention how it could wear a hunter physically.

NFL schemes are more difficult than in college, and professional coaches are obsessed with details. One player is inappropriate, even one, as physically gifted as a hunter, can ruin a whole game against the NFL contest. The hunter cannot be in two places at the same time during meetings during the week before the game.
There is no reason to believe that Hunter has not plunged into football and will not insist on a while to be as ready in attack and protection. But this will be damn call.
Can Travis Hunter do this as a double -sided player?
Hunter, Deyon Sanders and others understood the same corner of Hunter’s chances for success as a bilateral NFL player: why not? They said that he did this in college, so perhaps he can be a unique player to cope with the professionals.

There is reliability to this. Since the beginning of the 1960s, no one has played in both directions as a full time since the beginning of the 1960s, but since then has not been a player like Hunter. He did this at such a high level in college, it seems, at least, it is worth trying it in the NFL. Hunter said he wanted to do it. Sanders, who spent many 1996 season with Dallas Cowboys, playing an attack and defense, believes that this can be done.
This is what Cleveland Brows and, possibly, New York giants should answer. Hunter, most likely, will go either with the second choice of brows, or the third choice of giants, and the big question after the choice of the hunter will be what the vision of this team for Hunter is.
If the team decides to use Hunter in attack and protection, even in a limited bag on one side of the ball, as Harbo suggested, there should be a plan to fulfill it. The hunter seems to be in this idea. Let’s see if there will be a team that will prepare him next week is also sure.
